Meghalaya logs 113 new Covid cases, 3 deaths
The state on Wednesday recorded three more COVID-19 related deaths, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,412 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, two cases were reported from West Jaintia Hills district and one from East Khasi Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 113 new COVID-19 cases. These include 55 in West Khasi Hills, 37 East Khasi Hills, 8 West Jaintia Hills, 4 Ri Bhoi, 3 West Garo Hills, 3 South West Khasi Hills, 1 East Garo Hills, 1 East Jaintia Hills and 1 South Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 173 persons have recovered from the viral infection. Of these, 82 are from East Khasi Hills, 66 West Khasi Hills, 15 West Jaintia Hills, 4 East Jaintia Hills, 3 Ri Bhoi, 2 South West Khasi Hills and 1 South West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 82,068 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,310 are active cases, 79,346 recovered and 1,412 deaths.
With 721 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 295 cases and West Jaintia Hills 144.
There are 73 in Ri Bhoi, 23 West Garo Hills, 22 South West Khasi Hills, 12 East Jaintia Hills, 10 East Garo Hills, 5 South West Garo Hills, 3 North Garo Hills and 2 South Garo Hills.
