Meghalaya logs 257 new COVID cases, 3 deaths
The state on Saturday recorded 3 COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,299 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 1 was reported from East Khasi Hills district and 2 from West Jaintia Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 257 new COVID-19 cases.
These include 101 in East Khasi Hills, 87 West Khasi Hills, 7 West Garo Hills, 15 Ri Bhoi, 14 West Jaintia Hills, 0 East Garo Hills, 0 North Garo Hills, 4 East Jaintia Hills, 2 South Garo Hills, 22 South West Khasi Hills and 5 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 207 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 68 East Khasi Hills, 8 West Garo Hills, 25 West Jaintia Hills, 15 West Khasi Hills, 3 East Garo Hills, 1 North Garo Hills, 8 South Garo Hills, 2 South West Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 53 Ri Bhoi and 22 South West Khasi Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 75,336 COVID-19 cases out of which 2,710 are active cases, 71,327 recovered and 1,299 deaths.
With 1,452 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 361 and West Khasi Hills with 341 cases.
There are 196 in West Jaintia Hills, 115 West Garo Hills, 138 South West Khasi Hills, 25 East Jaintia Hills, 22 North Garo Hills, 14 East Garo Hills, 23 South West Garo Hills and 23 South Garo Hills.
