Meghalaya logs 265 new COVID-19 cases, 7 deaths
The state on Sunday recorded 7 COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,306 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 6 were reported from East Khasi Hills district and 1 from West Khasi Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 265 new COVID-19 cases.
These include 116 in East Khasi Hills, 33 West Khasi Hills, 6 West Garo Hills, 49 Ri Bhoi, 28 West Jaintia Hills, 4 East Garo Hills, 0 North Garo Hills, 10 East Jaintia Hills, 0 South Garo Hills, 18 South West Khasi Hills and 1 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 332 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 199 East Khasi Hills, 15 West Garo Hills, 16 West Jaintia Hills, 18 West Khasi Hills, 1 East Garo Hills, 1 North Garo Hills, 11 South Garo Hills, 1 South West Garo Hills, 4 East Jaintia Hills, 50 Ri Bhoi and 16 South West Khasi Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 75,601 COVID-19 cases out of which 2,636 are active cases, 71,659 recovered and 1,306 deaths.
With 1,363 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 360 and West Khasi Hills with 355 cases.
There are 208 in West Jaintia Hills, 106 West Garo Hills, 140 South West Khasi Hills, 31 East Jaintia Hills, 21 North Garo Hills, 17 East Garo Hills, 23 South West Garo Hills and 12 South Garo Hills.
