Meghalaya MP for digital archive on the knowledge of Meghalaya
Meghalaya Rajya Sabha MP Dr WR Kharlukhi urged the Central Library, NEHU to propose a project to the Union DoNER Ministry for establishing a Digital Archive on the knowledge of Meghalaya.
Dr Kharlukhi told in the inaugural programme of 29th Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centres (IASLIC), National Seminar at the Multi-Use Convention Hall, NEHU Campus, Shillong on Wednesday.
The seminar was organized by the Central Library, NEHU, Shillong in collaboration with the IASLIC, Kolkata.
Dr. Kharlukhi informed about a Museum to be established in Garo Hills and propose that technical advice will be sought from the Central Library, NEHU, Shillong to further the objective.
He also urged Central Library, NEHU to propose a project to the Department of DoNER, Government of India to established a Digital Archive on the knowledge of Meghalaya and the North Eastern states of India, which will reap in great benefit to the State and he region as a whole which will also have a positive impact of the tourism industry.
