Meghalaya notified extension of cyber treasury into full fledged banking treasury
The Meghalaya Government has notified for the extension of the Cyber Treasury into a full-fledged Banking Treasury at Shillong under the control of the Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries w.e.f. October 1st this year to deal with Government payment transactions attained in the electronic form until further orders.
The cyber treasury will facilitate a centralized treasury system for receipt and payment of Government revenue and expenditure through the electronic form via Government Receipt Accounting System (GRAS) in the case of revenue receipt and E-Billing in the case of expenditure,
On the conversion of the Cyber Treasury into a full-fledged Banking Treasury in the State of Meghalaya, all State Government Departments and Offices having revenue receipts collection throughout the State will carry out all expenditure transaction from a single Drawing and Disbursing Officer duly initiated from the Cyber Treasury.
Moreover the Cyber Treasury shall also constitute an Accounts Rendering Unit for the purpose of Implementation of the SNA-SPARSH for the “Just in Time” release of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) funds through e-Kuber platform of Reserve Bank of India for Government Department and Agencies.
