Meghalaya: over 12,470 persons recovered from COVID-19
148 persons have recovered from COVID-19, taking the total recoveries to 12,470 in the state on Friday.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said those recovered from the viral infection include 127 from East Khasi Hills district, 7 West Garo Hills district, 6 Ri Bhoi district, 4 South West Garo Hills district and 4 West Jaintia Hills district.
Of 48 fresh cases detected on Friday, he said 47 are from East Khasi Hills and 1 from Ri Bhoi..
Those tested positive also include 4 armed force/paramilitary force personnel, 1 health worker and 10 high risk contacts.
So far, the state has detected a total of 13,189 COVID-19 cases out of which 586 are active cases, 12,470 recovered and 133 deaths.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 355 positive cases, West Jaintia Hills 108, Ri Bhoi 38, West Garo Hills 34, South West Garo Hills 14, East Garo Hills 11, East Jaintia Hills 7, South Garo Hills 7, West Khasi Hills 5, North Garo Hills 5 and South West Khasi Hills 2.
“Till date, swab samples of 2,75,934 persons have been tested of which 2,62,745 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 73,498 entrants from outside the state.
