Meghalaya passes vote-on-account of Rs 4,358 Cr
The state Assembly on Thursday passed the vote-on-account amounting to over Rs 4,358 crore for defraying several charges which will come in the course of payment for first three months of the next financial year starting from April 1.
The Meghalaya Appropriation (Vote-On-Account) Bill, 2020 was presented by the chief minister Conrad K Sangma and was passed unanimously in the Assembly.
Tabling the statement of objects and reasons, Sangma said that this bill is introduced in pursuance of Article 204 of the Constitution of India read with Article 206 thereof, to provide for the withdrawl of certain sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of Meghalaya for services of the first three months of the financial year 2020-21 beginning on the first day of April.
“An amount of Rs 4358,03,37,000 will be involved from the Consolidated Fund of the State in implementing this Bill,” he said.
