Meghalaya police man arrested for involvement in trafficking of heroin
In an alarming state of affairs, one police constable has been arrested for his involvement in the trafficking of heroin on Wednesday.
Police informed that the ANTF and Lumshnong PS of East Jaintia Hills District launched an operation for more than ten hours.
The joint operation led by Jason Myrom, MPS, Dy SP (HQ), Khliehriat apprehend one drugs peddler identified as Nisooki War (29 yrs) resident of Lamyrsiang village, East Jaintia Hills District.
Police said from his possession 17(seventeen) boxes of suspected heroin, total weight of 201 grams, 2 (two) mobile phones have been recovered and seized accordingly.
However, vehicle has not been seized as it is a commercial vehicle and drugs were being transported without knowledge of driver or any other occupant.
Police on basis of the preliminary interrogation of accused, one ABC/85 Triplepearl Pasi of East Jaintia Hills DEF have also been arrested for entering into criminal conspiracy, for aiding and abetting the above noted accused in the commission of the crime.
Police registered Lumshnong PS Case No. 25(7)2022 u/s 8(c)/21b)/29 NDPS Act and investigation is in progress.
