Meghalaya police registers case against HYC leaders for unlawful actions at Lum Survey

A case has been registered against leaders of the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) for carrying out an eviction drive against alleged illegal settlers at Lum Survey on Thursday morning.

“The case was registered at the Sadar police station against HYC president Roy Kupar Synrem, vice president Donbok Kharlyngdoh, assistant general secretary Isaac Basaiawmoit and multiple unknown others in connection with the unlawful actions carried out by them in Lum Survey in the morning of 23/05/24,” East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Rituraj Ravi said.

He informed the investigation is under progress in the matter.
