Meghalaya Police takes initiative against COVID-19 with ABC Campaign
In light of the increased prevalence of COVID-19 in the state, the police personnel of the 6th MLP BN Umran has conduct Awareness programmes and Behavioural Change campaign in the surrounding villages of the BNHQs aimed at combating the Covid-19 pandemic, on Tuesday.
Calling the campaign “A.B.C of 6th MLP Battalion, Umran”, Lakador Syiem, MPS Commandant 6th MLP BN Umran said that the aim is to raise awareness and remind the public about the pandemic, as many people appear to have forgotten the SOPs and Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour.
During the awareness they urged everyone above 45 years to take advantage of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign at their local health centre, he added.
The Awareness & Behavioural Change campaign was started on April 21 from Umran Niangbyrnai village.
The places covered so far by this campaign include Umran Niangbyrnai, Lumkeni, Nongdewsaw, Mardon Mawtari, Mardon Nongbah, Umksih, SOS childrens village, Lad Umsaw Umiam, Umtasor, Kynjoin Umran, Mawiapbang, Maweitnar, Umtasor Nongjyrmie. Villages in and around the BNHQs will be covered during this A.B.C. campaign in the coming days.
