Meghalaya records 1 COVID-19 death, 167 new cases
The state on Thursday recorded one more new COVID-19 related death, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,490.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the case was reported from East Khasi Hills district.
The state has also recorded 167 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total active cases to 784.
Dr War said 130 cases were detected from East Khasi Hills district, 16 West Garo Hills, 11 Ri Bhoi, 3 West Khasi Hills, 2 each from West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills and 1 each from North Garo Hills, South Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills.
Dr War also informed that 83 persons have recovered from the viral infection of which 71 are East Khasi Hills, 9 West Garo Hills and 3 West Jaintia Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 85,796 COVID-19 cases out of which 784 are active cases, 83,522 recovered and 1,490 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 640 followed by West Garo Hills 66, Ri Bhoi 40, West Jaintia Hills 12, West Khasi Hills 9, East Jaintia Hills 7, South West Khasi Hills 6, and 2 each from North Garo Hills, and South Garo Hills.
