Meghalaya records 11 COVID-19 deaths, 411 new cases
The state on Tuesday recorded 11 COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,185 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 8 were reported from East Khasi Hills district and 1 each from Ri Bhoi district, East Jaintia Hills district and West Jaintia Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 411 new COVID-19 cases.
These include 216 in East Khasi Hills, 38 West Khasi Hills, 66 West Garo Hills, 23 Ri Bhoi, 22 West Jaintia Hills, 12 East Garo Hills, 10 North Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 4 South Garo Hills and 5 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 707 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 195 East Khasi Hills, 97 West Garo Hills, 89 West Jaintia Hills, 203 West Khasi Hills, 18 East Garo Hills, 9 North Garo Hills, 10 South Garo Hills, 8 South West Garo Hills, 24 East Jaintia Hills, 30 Ri Bhoi and 24 South West Khasi Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 69,769 COVID-19 cases out of which 4,427 are active cases, 64,157 recovered and 1,185 deaths.
With 1,808 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 648 and West Garo Hills with 566 cases.
There are 458 cases in West Jaintia Hills, 465 Ri Bhoi, 217 South West Khasi Hills, 53 East Jaintia Hills, 63 North Garo Hills, 57 East Garo Hills, 48 South West Garo Hills and 44 South Garo Hills.
