Meghalaya records 120 new cases, 4 deaths
The state on Thursday recorded 4 more COVID-19 related deaths, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,558 even as 120 have tested positive for the virus taking the total active cases to 1,020.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said all four deceased persons were from East Khasi Hills.
Dr War also informed of the 120 new cases, 50 were detected in East Khasi Hills, 15 West Garo Hills, 9 Ri Bhoi, 22 West Jaintia Hills, 3 Eastern West Khasi Hills, 4 South West Garo Hills, 2 South Garo Hills, 5 North Garo Hills, 2 West Khasi Hills, 2 South West Khasi Hills, 3 East Garo Hills and 3 East Jaintia Hills.
He said that 194 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
So far, the state has detected a total of 92,766 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,020 are active cases, 90,188 recovered and 1,558 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 399 followed by West Garo Hills 175, Ri Bhoi 126, West Jaintia Hills 103, South West Khasi Hills 39, South West Garo Hills 27, Eastern West Khasi Hills 34, North Garo Hills 31, West Khasi Hills 24, East Jaintia Hills 22, East Garo Hills 22 and South Garo Hills 18.
