Meghalaya records 125 new Covid cases, 2 deaths
The state on Wednesday recorded 2 more COVID-19 related deaths, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,554 even as 125 have tested positive for the virus taking the total active cases to 1,098.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said two deaths were reported from East Khasi Hills and East Jaintia Hills.
Dr War also informed of the 125 new cases, 56 were detected in East Khasi Hills, 16 West Garo Hills, 13 Ri Bhoi, 11 West Jaintia Hills, 3 Eastern West Khasi Hills, 5 South West Garo Hills, 5 South Garo Hills, 4 North Garo Hills, 2 West Khasi Hills, 4 East Garo Hills and 3 East Jaintia Hills.
He said that 233 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
So far, the state has detected a total of 92,646 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,098 are active cases, 89,994 recovered and 1,554 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 424 followed by West Garo Hills 224, Ri Bhoi 123, West Jaintia Hills 95, South West Khasi Hills 47, South West Garo Hills 29, Eastern West Khasi Hills 37, North Garo Hills 30, West Khasi Hills 24, East Jaintia Hills 23, East Garo Hills 23 and South Garo Hills 19.
