Meghalaya records 150 new COVID cases, 1 death
The state on Tuesday recorded one more COVID-19 related death, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,381 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, the case was reported from Ri Bhoi district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 150 new COVID-19 cases. These includes, 66 in East Khasi Hills, 26 Ri Bhoi, 23 West Khasi Hills, 22 West Jaintia Hills, 5 East Jaintia Hills, 4 West Garo Hills, 2 South West Khasi Hills, 1 South Garo Hills and 1 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 167 persons have recovered from the viral infection. Of these, 78 are from East Khasi Hills, 45 West Jaintia Hills, 16 Ri Bhoi, 12 West Garo Hills, 10 West Khasi Hills, 2 East Garo Hills, 2 South West Garo Hills, 1 North Garo Hills and South Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 79, 817 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,878 are active cases, 76,558 recovered and 1,381 deaths.
With 846 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 378 cases and West Jaintia Hills 301.
There are 169 in Ri Bhoi, 102 South West Khasi Hills, 29 West Garo Hills, 26 East Jaintia Hills, 9 East Garo Hills, 7 North Garo Hills, 8 South West Garo Hills and 3 South Garo Hills.
