Meghalaya records 162 new COVID-19 cases, 4 deaths
The state on Tuesday recorded 4 COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,285 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 3 were reported from East Khasi Hills district and 1 from West Khasi Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 162 new COVID-19 cases.
These include 88 in East Khasi Hills, 20 West Khasi Hills, 18 West Garo Hills, 7 Ri Bhoi, 10 West Jaintia Hills, 2 East Garo Hills, 2 North Garo Hills, 4 East Jaintia Hills, 5 South Garo Hills, 0 South West Khasi Hills and 6 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 268 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 77 East Khasi Hills, 20 West Garo Hills, 81 West Jaintia Hills, 39 West Khasi Hills, 4 East Garo Hills, 2 North Garo Hills, 2 South Garo Hills, 2 South West Garo Hills,5 East Jaintia Hills, 24 Ri Bhoi and 12 South West Khasi Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 74,232 COVID-19 cases out of which 2,820 are active cases, 70,127 recovered and 1,285 deaths.
With 1,423 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 414 and West Jaintia Hills with 289 cases.
There are 262 in West Khasi Hills, 161 West Garo Hills, 135 South West Khasi Hills, 36 East Jaintia Hills, 20 North Garo Hills, 22 East Garo Hills, 27 South West Garo Hills and 31 South Garo Hills.
