Meghalaya records 166 new COVID-19 cases
The state on Tuesday recorded 166 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total active cases to 701.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said 143 cases were detected from East Khasi Hills district, 8 Ri Bhoi, 8 West Garo Hills, 3 West Jaintia Hills, 2 West Khasi Hills and 1 each from East Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills.
Dr War also informed that 43 persons have recovered from the viral infection of which 36 are from East Khasi Hills and 7 from West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 85,629 COVID-19 cases out of which 701 are active cases, 83,439 recovered and 1,489 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 582 followed by West Garo Hills 59, Ri Bhoi 29, West Jaintia Hills 13, West Khasi Hills 6, South West Khasi Hills 5, East Jaintia Hills 5 and 1 each from North Garo Hills and South Garo Hills.
