Meghalaya records 18 new COVID-19 cases, 17 recoveries
The state has recorded 18 new COVID-19 cases and 17 recoveries on Thursday.
Direction of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the new cases included 13 in East Jaintia Hills district, 4 in East Khasi Hills district and 1 in West Garo Hills district.
He said all the 13 cases in East Jaintia Hills are from the Goldstone cement cluster.
Dr War informed that 17 patients who recovered from the viral infection include 16 from East Khasi Hills district and 1 from West Jaintia Hills district.
So far, the state has detected a total of 13,687 COVID-19 cases out of which 161 are active cases, 13,382 recovered and 144 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has 104 active cases, West Jaintia Hills 29, East Jaintia Hills 16, North Garo Hills 4, Ri Bhoi 3, West Garo Hills 2 and West Khasi Hills 2.
On the other hand, of the 3,13,914 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 3,00,227 were tested negative for the virus even as 66 persons are in institutional quarantine and 93 under home quarantine.
There are 82,674 entrants from outside the state.
