Meghalaya records 184 new COVID cases, 3 deaths
The state on Friday recorded three more COVID-19 related deaths, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,389 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, two were reported from East Khasi Hills district and 1 from West Jaintia Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 184 new COVID-19 cases. These includes, 91 in East Khasi Hills, 62 West Khasi Hills, 19 West Jaintia Hills, 6 Ri Bhoi, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 2 South West Khasi Hills, 1 South West Garo Hills and 1 West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 159 persons have recovered from the viral infection. Of these, 61 are from East Khasi Hills, 59 West Jaintia Hills, 18 West Khasi Hills, 6 East Jaintia Hills, 6 West Garo Hills, 3 East Garo Hills, 3 South West Khasi Hills and 3 Ri Bhoi.
So far, the state has detected a total of 80,430 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,990 are active cases, 77, 051 recovered and 1,389 deaths.
With 914 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 456 cases and West Jaintia Hills 233.
There are 228 in Ri Bhoi, 87 South West Khasi Hills, 29 West Garo Hills, 22 East Jaintia Hills, 6 East Garo Hills, 6 North Garo Hills, 6 South West Garo Hills and 3 South Garo Hills.
