Meghalaya records 23 new COVID cases, 1 death
The state on Monday recorded one more COVID-19 related deaths, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,459 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, the case was reported from West Jaintia Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 23 new COVID-19 cases. These include 18 in East Khasi Hills, 2 Ri Bhoi, 1 East Jaintia Hills, 1 West Garo Hills and 1 West Khasi Hills .
Dr War also informed that 36 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 14 are from East Khasi Hills, 8 Ri Bhoi, 4 West Khasi Hills, 3 West Jaintia Hills, 2 South West Garo Hills, 2 South West Khasi Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills and 1 West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 83,886 COVID-19 cases out of which 349 are active cases, 82,078 recovered and 1,459 deaths.
East Khas Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 with 259 followed by West Khasi Hills with 26 cases and West Garo Hills 25.
There are 13 in Ri Bhoi, 11 West Jaintia Hills, 5 East Garo Hills, 4 East Jaintia Hills, 3 South West Khasi Hills and 3 North Garo Hills. Now, South West Garo Hills and South Garo Hills have zero cases of COVID-19.
