Meghalaya records 262 new COVID cases, 2 deaths
The state on Friday recorded 2 COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,296 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 1 each was reported from East Khasi Hills district and West Garo Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 262 new COVID-19 cases.
These include 162 in East Khasi Hills, 12 West Khasi Hills, 14 West Garo Hills, 32 Ri Bhoi, 26 West Jaintia Hills, 3 East Garo Hills, 0 North Garo Hills, 3 East Jaintia Hills, 1 South Garo Hills, 8 South West Khasi Hills and 1 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 279 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 149 East Khasi Hills, 32 West Garo Hills, 36 West Jaintia Hills, 22 West Khasi Hills, 4 East Garo Hills, 1 North Garo Hills, 2 South Garo Hills, 8 South West Garo Hills, 13 East Jaintia Hills, 11 Ri Bhoi and 1 South West Khasi Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 75,079 COVID-19 cases out of which 2,663 are active cases, 71,120 recovered and 1,296 deaths.
With 1,420 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 399 and West Khasi Hills with 269 cases.
There are 209 in West Jaintia Hills, 116 West Garo Hills, 138 South West Khasi Hills, 23 East Jaintia Hills, 23 North Garo Hills, 17 East Garo Hills, 20 South West Garo Hills and 29 South Garo Hills.
