Meghalaya records 273 new COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths
The state on Monday recorded five COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 913 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 3 were reported from East Khasi Hills district and 1 each from West Garo Hills district and South Garo Hills district.
He said the state also detected 273 new cases. These include 98 in East Khasi Hills, 55 Ri Bhoi, 51 West Garo Hills, 32 West Jaintia Hills, 13 North Garo Hills, 8 South Garo Hills, 7 East Garo Hills, 4 West Khasi Hills, 3 East Jaintia Hills and 2 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 423 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 155 are from Ri Bhoi, 125 East Khasi Hills, 77 West Garo Hills, 48 West Jaintia Hills, 39 North Garo Hills, 24 West Khasi Hills, 13 South West Khasi Hills, 16 East Garo Hills, 12 East Jaintia Hills, 7 South Garo Hills and 7 South West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 54,853 COVID-19 cases out of which 4,110 are active cases, 49,830 recovered and 913 deaths.
With 1,304 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 787 cases and West Garo Hills with 610 cases.
There are 511 cases in West Jaintia Hills, 244 West Khasi Hills, 163 North Garo Hills, 113 East Garo Hills, 115 East Jaintia Hills, 98 South Garo Hills, 98 South West Khasi Hills and 67 South West Garo Hills.
