Meghalaya records 3 COVID related deaths, 421 new cases
The state on Tuesday recorded 3 COVID-19 related deaths pushing the death toll to 788.
According to the Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, the three deaths include 1 each from East Khasi Hills district, East Jaintia Hills district and Ri Bhoi district.
He said the state also detected 421 new cases. These include 82 in East Khasi Hills, 65 Ri Bhoi, 60 West Jaintia Hills, 56 West Garo Hills, 42 South West Garo Hills, 41 East Garo Hills, 30 North Garo Hills, 19 East Jaintia Hills, 12 South West Khasi Hills and 5 West Khasi Hills.
Dr War also informed that 341 persons have also recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 94 are from West Garo Hills, 88 East Khasi Hills, 38 Ri Bhoi, 27 South West Khasi Hills, 21 North Garo Hills, 15 East Garo Hills, 15 South West Garo Hills, 14 West Khasi Hills, 13 South Garo Hills, 12 West Jaintia Hills and 4 East Jaintia HIlls.
So far, the state has detected a total of 45,976 COVID-19 cases out of which 4,273 are active cases, 40,915 recovered and 788 deaths.
With 1,377 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Garo Hills with 607cases and 588 West Jaintia Hills.
There are 527 cases in Ri Bhoi, 249 East Garo Hills, 219 North Garo Hills, 207 South West Garo Hills, 194 South West Khasi Hills, 132 South Garo Hills, 98 West Khasi Hills and 75 East Jaintia Hills.
