Meghalaya records 352 new COVID-19 cases, 7 deaths
The state on Wednesday recorded seven COVID-19 related deaths pushing the death toll to 838.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, three each were reported from East Khasi Hills district and West Jaintia Hills district and one from Ri Bhoi district respectively.
He said the state also detected 352 new cases. These include 144 in East Khasi Hills, 54 West Garo Hills, 39 Ri Bhoi, 27 East Garo Hills, 20 North Garo Hills, 19 West Jaintia Hills, 18 West Khasi Hills, 13 South West Khasi Hills, 6 South Garo Hills and 7 East Jaintia Hills.
Dr War also informed that 392 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 108 are from East Khasi Hills, 80 Ri Bhoi, 41 North Garo Hills, 40 West Jaintia Hills, 35 West Garo Hills, 29 South West Garo Hills, 23 East Garo Hills, 13 West Khasi Hills, 10 East Jaintia Hills and 1 South Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 49,513 COVID-19 cases out of which 4,216 are active cases, 44,459 recovered and 838 deaths.
With 1,356 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Jaintia Hills with 616 cases and Ri Bhoi 585 cases.
There are 519 cases in West Garo Hills, 255 North Garo Hills, 246 East Garo Hills, 173 South West Khasi Hills, 159 West Khasi Hills, 110 South West Garo Hills, 115 East Jaintia Hills and 82 South Garo Hills.
