Meghalaya records 388 new COVID-19 cases, 6 deaths
The state on Sunday recorded six COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 945 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 4 were reported from East Khasi Hills district and 1 each from Ri Bhoi district and South West Khasi Hills district.
He said the state also detected 388 new cases. These include 105 in East Khasi Hills, 99 West Garo Hills, 55 Ri Bhoi, 25 West Jaintia Hills, 11 East Garo Hills, 16 West Khasi Hills, 10 South West Garo Hills, 15 North Garo Hills, 3 East Jaintia Hills and 9 South Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 483 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 98 are from Ri Bhoi, 110 East Khasi Hills, 44 West Jaintia Hills, 68 West Khasi Hills, 79 West Garo Hills, 5 East Jaintia Hills, 9 South West Khasi Hills, 23 East Garo Hills, 13 South West Garo Hills, 19 North Garo Hills and 15 South Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 57,388 COVID-19 cases out of which 3,979 are active cases, 52,464 recovered and 945 deaths.
With 1,128 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Garo Hills with 895 cases and Ri Bhoi with 573 cases.
There are 481 cases in West Jaintia Hills, 151 West Khasi Hills, 177 North Garo Hills, 143 East Garo Hills, 177 South West Khasi Hills, 73 East Jaintia Hills, 94 South Garo Hills and 87 South West Garo Hills.
