Meghalaya records 422 new COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths
The state on Wednesday recorded 3 COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 921 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 2 were reported from East Khasi Hills district and 1 from West Jaintia Hills district.
He said the state also detected 422 new cases. These include 121 in East Khasi Hills, 131 West Garo Hills, 86 Ri Bhoi, 18 East Garo Hills, 16 West Jaintia Hills, 11 North Garo Hills, 8 South Garo Hills, 8 South West Garo Hills, 6 East Jaintia Hills and5 West Khasi Hills.
Dr War also informed that 458 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 127 are from East Khasi Hills, 127 Ri Bhoi, 69 West Jaintia Hills, 56 West Garo Hills, 16 West Khasi Hills, 13 South West Khasi Hills, 13 East Jaintia Hills, 12 South Garo Hills, 9 North Garo Hills, 9 South West Garo Hills and 7 East Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 55,640 COVID-19 cases out of which 3,925 are active cases, 50,794 recovered and 921 deaths.
With 1,079 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 749 cases and West Garo Hills with 697 cases.
There are 490 cases in West Jaintia Hills, 228 West Khasi Hills, 164 North Garo Hills, 133 East Garo Hills, 115 South West Khasi Hills, 102 East Jaintia Hills, 92 South Garo Hills and 76 South West Garo Hills.
