Meghalaya records 462 new COVID cases, 2 deaths
The state on Sunday recorded two COVID-19 related deaths pushing the death toll to 819.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, these include one each in East Khasi Hills district and Ri Bhoi district.
He said the state also detected 462 new cases. These include 153 in East Khasi Hills, 51 West Jaintia Hills, 70 Ri Bhoi, 37 West Garo Hills, 34 North Garo Hills, 28 East Garo Hills, 13 West Khasi Hills, 16 South West Garo Hills, 15 East Jaintia Hills, and 43 South West Khasi Hills.
Dr War also informed that 570 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 186 are from East Khasi Hills, 57 West Garo Hills, 78 Ri Bhoi, 37 East Garo Hills, 23 West Jaintia Hills, 18 West Khasi Hills, 17 North Garo Hills, 41 South Garo Hills, 29 South West Garo Hills and 5 East Jaintia HIlls.
So far, the state has detected a total of 48,447 COVID-19 cases out of which 4,558 are active cases, 43,070 recovered and 819 deaths.
With 1,344 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Jaintia Hills with 735 cases and Ri Bhoi 668 cases.
There are 597 cases in West Garo Hills, 262 East Garo Hills, 259 North Garo Hills, 157 South West Garo Hills, 189 South West Khasi Hills, 136 West Khasi Hills, 92 South Garo Hills and 119 East Jaintia Hills.
