Meghalaya records highest single-day recovery of nearly 300 COVID-19 patients
Nearly 300 persons have recovered from COVID-19, taking the total recoveries in the state to 3,343 while 80 new positive cases were detected on Friday.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said of the 285 new recovered cases, 242 are from East Khasi Hills district that include 219 civilians and 23 armed forces/paramilitary forces (AF/PF) personnel, 21 from Ri Bhoi district, 10 from West Garo Hills district, 3 from West Jaintia Hills district, 3 from North Garo Hills district, 2 each from South West Khasi Hills district, South Garo Hills district, and 2 from East Jaintia Hills district.
“With this, a total of 3,343 patients have recovered so far in the state,” he said.
Dr War also informed that the total active cases now stands at 1,772 after 80 persons have tested positive for COVID-19.
Of these, he said 45, including 44 civilians and 1 AF/PF personnel, were detected from East Khasi Hills, 20 from West Garo Hills, 9 from North Garo Hills, 2 each from South West Garo Hills and Ri Bhoi and one each from West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills.
The state has so far recorded a total of 5,158 positive cases of which 43 have died due to the disease.
East Khasi Hills, where the state capital is located, has the highest number of active cases with 1,198 followed by East Jaintia Hills with 274 cases, 139 in Ri Bhoi, 95 in West Garo Hills, 22 in North Garo Hills, 14 in South West Garo Hills, 9 in West Khasi Hills, 8 in West Jaintia Hills, 7 in East Garo Hills, 3 in South Garo Hills and 3 in South West Khasi Hills.
