Meghalaya reports 21 new COVID-19 cases, tally at 1,176
Twenty-one more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday morning.
With this, the total active cases in the state has gone up to 1,176.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said 11 cases, all civilians were detected from East Khasi Hills district till 10 am today, 9 from East Garo Hills district and 1 from Ri Bhoi district.
He said that 4 patients, including 3 from South West Garo Hills and 1 from East Khasi Hills, have recovered today, taking the total recoveries in the state to 836.
On the other hand, Dr War also informed that 17 armed force cases have migrated from Ri Bhoi to Assam.
East Khasi Hills has the highest number of cases at 807, which include 522 civilians and 285 armed forces/para military forces (AF/PF), followed by West Garo Hills with 197 cases (123 AF/PF and 74 civilians) and 78 in Ri Bhoi that include 71 civilians and 7 AF/PF.
In the other districts, West Khasi Hills has 43 cases, 13 in North Garo HIlls, 12 each in South Garo HIlls, East Jaintia Hills and and East Garo Hills, 3 in West Jaintia Hills and 1 in South West Garo Hills.
