Meghalaya reports 263 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths
The state on Saturday reported two COVID-19 deaths, taking the total death toll to 1,325 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, one each was reported from West Khasi Hills district and East Khasi Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 263 new COVID-19 cases.
These include 84 in East Khasi Hills, 75 West Khasi Hills, 7 West Garo Hills, 22 Ri Bhoi, 17 West Jaintia Hills, 1 East Garo Hills, 3 North Garo Hills, 6 East Jaintia Hills, 0 South Garo Hills, 47 South West Khasi Hills and 1 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 350 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 235 East Khasi Hills, 10 West Garo Hills, 11 West Jaintia Hills, 28 West Khasi Hills, 3 East Garo Hills, 3 North Garo Hills, 0 South Garo Hills, 7 South West Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 51 Ri Bhoi and 0 South West Khasi Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 76,767 COVID-19 cases out of which 2,206 are active cases, 73,236 recovered and 1,325 deaths.
With 1,101 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 355 cases and Ri Bhoi with 220.
There are 195 in West Jaintia Hills, 75 West Garo Hills, 167 South West Khasi Hills, 49 East Jaintia Hills, 7 North Garo Hills, 20 East Garo Hills, 13 South West Garo Hills and 4 South Garo Hills.
