Meghalaya reports zero COVID-19 deaths
The state on Saturday reported no new COVID-19 death in 24 hours and the total number of deaths stood at 1,443 in the state.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the state has detected 53 new COVID-19 cases. These include 34 in East Khasi Hills, 6 West Jaintia Hills, 4 Ri Bhoi, 3 West Khasi Hills, 3 East Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills and 1 West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 56 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 37 are from East Khasi Hills, 14 West Khasi Hills, 4 Ri Bhoi and 1 West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 83,322 COVID-19 cases out of which 695 are active cases, 81,184 recovered and 1,443 deaths.
With 451 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 124 cases and West Jaintia Hills 50.
There are 33 in Ri Bhoi, 15 West Garo Hills, 5 South West Khasi Hills, 5 East Jaintia Hills, 5 East Garo Hills, 4 South West Garo Hills, 2 North Garo Hills and 1 South Garo Hills.
