Meghalaya students urged to register for JEE Main 2025 to unlock engineering opportunities
The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB)-2025 has invited students from Meghalaya and other northeastern states to register for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025. As a crucial gateway to India’s premier engineering institutions, JEE Main offers aspiring engineers access to world-class education and promising career prospects.
Recognizing the vast, untapped talent in the Northeast, NIT Rourkela is actively encouraging students from the region to take part in JEE Main, providing them with the opportunity to transform into skilled professionals. Registration for Session 2 (April 2025) begins on January 31, 2025, and closes on February 24, 2025.
Understanding the unique challenges faced by students from North-Eastern states and Union Territories, CSAB has introduced tailored opportunities through dedicated counselling rounds: CSAB-NEUT (North Eastern States and Some Union Territories) Rounds: These rounds allocate seats in AICTE-approved institutes and universities across India under the Reservation of Seats in Degree Level Technical Courses Scheme. This initiative ensures that students from regions lacking such institutions can still secure admissions in prestigious AICTE-approved institutes.
CSAB Special Round: For students who do not secure a seat through the initial JoSAA/CSAB counselling rounds, the CSAB Special Round provides another opportunity to gain admission into NIT+ institutions.
Motivating students, Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao, Chairperson, CSAB 2025, said, “The North East region is home to talented young minds with immense potential. I strongly encourage students from Meghalaya and other Northeastern states to seize this opportunity and register for the JEE Main 2025 Examination.”
Echoing this sentiment, Prof. Pinakeswar Mahanta, Director, NIT Meghalaya, stated, “I urge students of Meghalaya to take advantage of this great opportunity that can shape their future – the JEE Main examination. This is a vital step for those aiming for careers in engineering, science, and technology. I encourage students to register and prepare with focus and determination.”
CSAB’s initiatives aim to bridge educational disparities and empower students from North-Eastern states and Union Territories. By participating in JEE Main and subsequent counselling rounds, students can secure admission into renowned institutions that nurture their potential and equip them with the skills necessary to excel on a global stage.
