Meghalaya to face Himachal Pradesh in Vijay Hazare opener
The selectors of the Meghalaya Cricket Association have named their squad for the BCCI’s senior men’s one day tournament, the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, with Meghalaya set to face Himachal Pradesh in their opener tomorrow in Mumbai.
The selection of the 15 players and standbys by the Senior Men’s Selection Committee is for the first two matches and will be reviewed on the basis of performance. Meghalaya’s second fixture will be against Railways on 23 December. Like in the preceding T20 tournament, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Meghalaya will utilise an all-domiciled squad with no guest professional players.
Akash Kumar Choudhary, Meghalaya’s foremost pace bowler, will captain the side. His deputy will be Lerry G Sangma. The squad comprises a mix of experienced players and fresh youngsters from the age-level state teams.
