Meghalaya to host 20th Annual CPA from July 28 to Aug 1

The Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will hold the 20th Annual Conference of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), lndia Region, Zone III at Shillong from July 28 – August 1.

The programme will be held at the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly building at Rilbong, Shillong.

The Conference will be inaugurated by Om Birla, Speaker, Lok Sabha in the presence of Harivansh Narayan Singh, Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha.

All Speakers, Deputy Speakers from the Eight North East Region States will be attending the Conference.

Leader of Opposition, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, some Members of Parliament and MLAs from all the Eight North East Region States have also been invited to attend the Conference.

Sansad TV officials will also be in the delegation list. There will be an Executive Committee Meeting of the Speakers, Deputy Speakers and Commissioner & Secretaries/Secretaries of the CPA lndia Region Zone Ill on July 29, at Marriott Hotel, Shillong.

There will be a Plenary Session Discussion on July 29 to 30, on the topics – Natural Disasters and strategies for management with special reference to North East Region and Regional connectivity to bring North-East Region at par with mainland lndia.
