Meghalaya: Two more dies of COVID-19, 113 recoveries
The death of two persons has pushed the death toll due to COVID-19 to 122 in the state on Tuesday.
Also, 113 more persons have also recovered from the viral infection.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the patients who recovered from the viral infection include 63 from East Khasi Hills district, 39 West Garo Hills district, 4 East Jaintia Hills district, 3 South West Garo Hills district, 2 Ri Bhoi district, 1 East Garo Hills district and 1 West Jaintia Hills district.
Of the 98 new cases detected, Dr War said 73 are from East Khasi Hills, 11 West Garo Hills, 8 Ri Bhoi, 3 South West Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills and 1 East Garo Hills.
He said two cases transferred from West Garo Hills to South West Garo Hills while another two cases migrated from West Garo Hills to Assam.
So far, the state has detected a total of 12,410 COVID-19 cases out of which 602 are active cases, 11,686 recovered and 122 deaths.
Dr War said the fatality rate due to COVID-19 as on Tuesday is 0.98 percent.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 381 positive cases, West Garo Hills 102, East Garo Hills 25, West Jaintia Hills 23, Ri Bhoi 26, South West Garo Hills 17, West Khasi Hills 10, East Jaintia Hills 6, North Garo Hills 6, South West Khasi Hills 4 and South Garo Hills 2.
“Till date, swab samples of 2,58,439 persons have been tested of which 2,46,029 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 68,953 entrants from outside the state.
