Meghalaya’s first mobile RT-PCR COVID-19 testing lab in Nongpoh

Health and Family Welfare Minister James PK Sangma announced that the 1st Mobile RT-PCR Lab in collaboration with TATA MD based on CRISPR technology has been put up in Nongpoh Civil Hospital where samples of entry point are tested.

A second RT-PCR Lab will come up in Jowai for EJH & WJH while a third in Williamnagar for NGH & EGH.

The Minister said that this will greatly help in bringing down the turnaround time of the samples from the current 24 hours to just 5 hours.
