Meghalaya’s NMMSS scholarship exam 2023-2024: Apply now for merit based scholarships
The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat on Monday informed that the National Means Cum -Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination 2023-2024 will be conducted by Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT), Meghalaya, Shillong on the 4th November, 2023 (Saturday).
As per the eligibility criteria, students currently studying in Class 8 (Academic Session 2023-2024) in State Government, Government aided and Local Body Schools only can apply for the Scheme. Students should have scored at least 55% (50% for SC/ST) marks in Class 7 Promotion Examination. Students studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodayas, and Residential Schools run by Central and State Government and Private Schools are not eligible for Scholarship under the Scheme. Parental Annual Income from all sources should not exceed Rs. 3, 50,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs Fifty Thousand) only.
The Examination consist of two tests, Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) comprising of Science, Social Science and Mathematics, both these tests consist of 90 multiple-choice questions carrying 90 marks each. There will be no negative marking and students must pass the exam with an aggregate of SAT and MAT to be taken together at the minimum of 40% (32 % for SC/ ST students).
Complete filled-in Application Forms along with the following supporting documents should be submitted to the office Sub-Divisional School Education Officer (SDSEO), East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat. The Documents to be submitted along with the application form include Mark Sheet/ Report Card (Class-7), Two Passport size in School uniform, SC/ST/OBC Certificate, Disability Status Certificates from Competent Authority and Parental Annual Income from Competent Authority.
The last date for submission of forms by Candidates is on or before 26th September, 2023.
