Meghalaya records 361 new Covid cases, 6 deaths
Six more persons have succumbed to the COVID-19 infection, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,515 even as 361 have tested positive for the virus, taking the total active cases to 2,422.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said five deaths were reported from East Khasi Hills and 1 from West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed of the 361 new cases, 182 were detected in East Khasi Hills, 88 West Garo Hills, 19 Ri Bhoi, 7 North Garo Hills, 6 South Garo Hills, 15 West Jaintia Hills, 9 Eastern West Khasi Hills, 4 South West Khasi Hills, 13 South West Garo Hills, 6 East Garo Hills and 5 West Khasi Hills.
He said that 348 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
So far, the state has detected a total of 90,202 COVID-19 cases out of which 2,422 are active cases, 86,265 recovered and 1,515 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 1,381 followed by West Garo Hills 471, Ri Bhoi 178, West Jaintia Hills 85, North Garo Hills 53, South West Garo Hills 50, South West Khasi Hills 46, Eastern West Khasi Hills 46, East Jaintia Hills 35, West Khasi Hills 27, South Garo Hills 30 and East Garo Hills 20.
