MEPA calls for boycott of media coverage of North East Games

The Meghalaya Editors’ and Publishers’ Association (MEPA) took strong exception over the partiality and biasness adopted by the organisers of the North East Olympic Games (NEOG) 2022 in regard of the release of advertisements are concerned.

It has been noticed that only certain newspapers including those from outside the State are preferred for insertion of advertisements related to the NEOG 2022.

This goes against the established policy of giving first preference to the local newspapers, news portals and news channels.

The MEPA as a body that looks after the welfare and development of local media houses in the State has decided to register its strong protest against this blatant discrimination.

The MEPA appealed to all local media houses including print, electronic and online news portals not to carry any news, press releases, photographs, etc related to North East Games 2022 from Tuesday onwards.
