MEPA to take media persons hardships with Govt
The Meghalaya Editors’ and Publishers’ Association (MEPA) on Saturday decided to take up with the Meghalaya Govt on the several hardships faced by the media persons in the state besides the non timely payment of advertisements by Govt departments.
The decision was taken in the annual general meeting of the Association held at Shillong Club.
MEPA is an umbrella body of all media houses in Meghalaya and from this years the Association has taken the online news portal on boards.
The meeting also elected the new office bearers of MEPA for the term of 2022-23. R Monarch Shabong was re-elected as the president, Marcus M. Thaiang, Rajib Chaudhury, Raphael Warjri and Russel Nongrum as vice presidents, John W. Thabah as general secretary, Andrew W. Lyngdoh and Starfing Pdahkasiej as joint secretaries, Kyrmenlang Uriah as organising secretary and Deimebanda Blah as treasurer.
The executive members include Patricia Mukhim, Deimaia Lang Siangshai, E M Jose, Purbasha Bhattacharjee, Shan Shylla, Apporlet Shabong, Bankerlang Lapang and Bhabok Laloo.
