MHA to hold meeting to finalize Assam-Meghalaya border agreement on March 9
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will hold a meeting with the Assam and Meghalaya governments on March 9, to finalize the border agreement on the six of the twelve areas of difference shared between the two states.
Informing this on Monday, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said the border talks will take place on March 9 in Delhi.
“I just got the information two hours back and I have been told that the meeting will be held on March 9,” he said.
The six areas of difference under the first phase include Tarabari (4.69 sq km), Gizang (13.53 sq km), Hahim (3.51 sq km), Boklapara (1.57 sq kms), Khanapara-Pilangkata (2.29 sq kms) and Ratacherra (11.20 sq kms).
