Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President Nehemayah Tyngkan on Wednesday questioned when will the Mini Secretariat in Jowai, West Jaintia Hills District see the light of the day or it is just a political fantasy of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance Govt to appease the people of Jowai during the shifting of PWD Jowai North Division to Shangpung.
Addressing media persons at Jowai, Tyngkan informed that he will be contesting the election from Mowkaiaw Assembly Constituency in 2023 as a Congress Candidate and he is confident this time he will sail through with the support of the people of Meghalaya,
Sharing the dais with Tyngkan, Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress President Adrian Mylliem said that the youths of the State are frustrating with unemployment while the people are suffering with ever increasing price of foods making their life miserable day by day with no respite from any corners.
Terming the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) settling six areas of dispute as a sold out by the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) Govt, Erwin Syiem Sutnga questioned the authority of the Govt in signing the MoU when the Govt does not own the lands but belonged to private entity.

Categorically stating that it is not the question of just three villages, Sutnga said that the MoU deprived three Hima namely Sohiong, Mylliem and Jirang of vast areas of lands under their respective jurisdiction.

Taking a dig in the policy of give and take in settling the six of dispute, the advocate turned politician said that Assam gives nothing to Meghalaya in return of what Meghalaya gives her for reaching the MoU as the lands in all the six areas of dispute belonged to Meghalaya.
Sutnga who will be contesting the Assembly Election from Umroi Constituency against TMC MLA George Lyngdoh demanded the de-notification of the notification signed by the then Governor of the erstwhile Assam in 1951 tagging Block-I and II under Jowai Civil Sub Division to the Mikir Hills for administrative convenience.
Once the notification is de-notified all the villages under Block-I & II will have to be retransfer to Meghalaya the rightful owner, he asserted.
Sutnga lambasted the MDA Govt for the lack of a roster system in the reservation policy thereby leading to issuance of stay order on recruitment process in the State of Meghalaya by the High Court of Meghalaya.
He also ridiculed the MDA Govt coinage of Cabinet on the Move to the Cabinet pushed by Court order as the High Court has been issuing order after order to the Govt for implementing things which they ought to do but failed to do so.
The MPCC Secretary condemned the BJP led Central Govt for planning to teach Bhagavad Gita for school students in secular country and making Hindi a compulsory subject till secondary level in the North East States.
