Ministry of Culture invites applications for veteran artistes pension scheme
The Ministry of Culture has announced that applications are now open for the Artistes Pension under the “Scheme for Financial Assistance for Veteran Artistes.” This scheme is available to veteran artistes who have received either State or National awards or are recognized artistes from Akashwani or Doordarshan. Eligible candidates must show that their primary source of income came from their artistic work during their active years.
To qualify, applicants must have a personal and spouse’s combined income that does not exceed Rs 4,000 per month or Rs 48,000 annually. Applicants should also be at least 60 years old. It is important to note that pension assistance from other government schemes will not be counted as part of the income.
Applications must be submitted in the prescribed form through respective State Governments, Union Territory Administrations, or Zonal Cultural Centres (ZCCs) along with their recommendations. Applications submitted without these recommendations will not be considered.
The application form and more details about the scheme are available on the Ministry of Culture’s website at www.indiaculture.gov.in. Applicants can also submit their applications online through the Culture Scheme Monitoring System (CSMS) portal at csms.nic.in.
Until the online application process is fully operational, completed hard copies of the application, along with all required documents, should be sent to The Director, South Central Zonal Cultural Centre, 56/1, Civil Lines, Opposite MLA’s Hostel, Nagpur, Maharashtra, Pin-440001, through the relevant State Government or ZCC.
Incomplete applications or those missing recommendations and required documents will not be entertained.
