Miss Meghalaya and Miss Teen Meghalaya pageant return: Welcoming aspiring beauties
The stage is set for an extraordinary celebration of elegance, talent, and empowerment as the Miss Meghalaya 2023 and Miss Teen Meghalaya 2023 pageants make a triumphant return. Organized by the Miss Meghalaya Organization under the umbrella of Meghalaya Youth Tourism Development Society.
In a press briefing held on Friday, the Miss Meghalaya Organization, represented by renowned educationist and fashion enthusiast Brian Wallang, and the accomplished entrepreneur and former Miss Meghalaya, Rochelle Wahlang, along with the president and secretary of the Meghalaya Tourism Youth Development Society, Dominic Savio Diengdoh, Daniel Khongsit, and Shanbor Khonglah, announced that the auditions will commence on August 12 at the Youth Hostel Shillong. Aspiring young ladies will have the opportunity to display their charm and desire for the coveted titles.
Adding to the allure, the pageants will feature a mesmerizing fashion show presented by Butterfly Clothes and Accessories.
The winners of Miss Meghalaya and Miss Teen Meghalaya will be awarded a total cash prize of 2.80 lakhs, and they will captivate the audience with their remarkable talents during the grand finale at the U Soso Tham Auditorium on September 9.
Beyond just a crown, these titleholders will have the privilege to represent Meghalaya on regional and national platforms, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and talent of the region to a wider audience.
The journey to the crown goes beyond the glitz and glamour, as contestants will undergo transformative grooming sessions from August 28 to September 8. These sessions will focus on personality development, public speaking, and self-confidence, molding the contestants into potential role models for society.
Moreover, Miss Meghalaya and Miss Teen Meghalaya serve as powerful platforms to raise awareness about important social issues and causes. The contestants actively engage in various social activities and charity events, becoming ambassadors of positive change in their communities.
The Miss Meghalaya Organization proudly highlighted the achievements of past winners, exemplified by reigning Miss Meghalaya, Irene Dkhar, who represented the state at Miss Northeast 2022 and Femina Miss India Meghalaya 2023, and Jessica Kharlukhi, the 1st Runner-Up of Miss Meghalaya, who participated in Miss Northeast 2022 and various esteemed fashion shows and beauty contests. Reigning Miss Teen Meghalaya, Daniella Shirley Majaw, made her mark at Miss Teen Diva 2023 held in Jaipur, Rajasthan. She was trained at The Cocoberry one of India’s most renowned grooming institutions, and was chosen to walk the runway at the prestigious Lakme Fashion Week alongside Bollywood stars and fashion designers.
