MLA demands magisterial inquiry into deaths of GHADC employees
Congress legislator from Mawlai PT Sawkmie on Monday demanded a magisterial inquiry into reports that twenty one employees of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) had died due to non-payment of salary by the Council.
He said the state government should immediately intervene into the issue. “I urge the Chief Minister to step in and bail out (the GHADC) by taking prompt action and extend financial assistance to the employees of the Council,” Sawkmie said.
He said the government should also constitute a magisterial inquiry into the matter.
