Mondal exudes confidence to retain Tura LS seat
National People’s Party (NPP) leader and cabinet minister Abu Taher Mondal on Monday expressed confidence that his party will retain Tura parliamentary seat.
Speaking to reporters, Mondal said, “As far as I am concerned, we are winning. Our candidate (Agatha K Sangma) is winning.”
The minister said, “I don’t have fair knowledge about Khasi Hills but friends are telling it is squarely poised but in Garo Hills, we are winning.”
“It is difficult to say but it will be a normal margin. We always believe that the margin should be big but in elections if you win by one vote also you are winning,” he added.
According to him, there was a sudden shifting of TMC voters to Congress during the elections.
