Moodymmai Integrated Village Cooperative Society Ltd office inaugurated
Moodymmai Integrated Village Cooperative Society Ltd temporary office was inaugurated today by Moodymmai-Ummulong MDC Jesse Suiam in the presence of M. Sungoh the Assistant Manager of District Basin Development Unit, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai and D. Langstang, Programme Associate of District Basin Development Unit, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai.
M. Surong said the IVCS Ltd is promoted by District Basin Development Unit, under the Meghalaya Livelihood Access to Market Project (MEGHA-LAMP) and the project was funding from the International Fund for Agricultural Development, Government of Meghalaya.
M. Sungoh informed that in Meghalaya there were 1350 selected villages and in West Jaintia Hills 34 villages were selected 20 from Thadlaskein Block and 14 from the Amlarem Block.
She reminded that the main purpose of these IVCS is to develop the rural areas especially the villages in the remote areas in the state by providing financial services and enhance savings and lending to every person who are above 18 years of age, farmer, entrepreneur who are part of the society as a shareholders or share subscribers.
The Moodymmai IVCS Ltd was registered at the office of the Assistant Cooperative Societies, West Jaintia Hills District and promoted by District Basin Development Unit, WJHD, under the Megha – Lamp the Secretary of MIVCS Ltd, Moodymmai F. Lytan.
She said Moodymmai IVCS has 93 share holders, 110 share subscriber members and the savings amount of Rs 69, 130.
Moodymmai IVCS was first formed by 15 executive committee of member of the Moodymmai village Dorbar on September 14th, 2019.
Jesse Suiam lauded the Basin Development Unit for guidance and support to the village. He said the society is the first step towards success and encourage the members of the society to work hand in hand for the betterment of the society and village as whole
The programme was held at the temporary office of Moodymmai IVCS on the presence of the Village Headman Nangmanbha Laloo, Chairman of Moodymmai IVCS S. Pariat, the members of the Village executive committee, the members of Moodymmai IVCS and others.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Khroosing Passah.
