Moolamylliang village opens 6th season of Christmas lights
The Christmas light extravaganza at Moolamylliang village opened today for its sixth consecutive season on December 18, bringing glittering holiday illumination, decorations, and music.
Santa Mary Shylla, Sutnga Saipung legislator, was the Chief Guest, and Shivansh Awasthi, Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills District, was the Guest of Honour, along with other dignitaries.
The Christmas lights initiative was started in 2019 to promote tourism. Over the last few years, Moolamylliang village has built up a reputation for tourism, environmental care, and especially its Christmas lights. This year, the famous lights will be displayed every evening from December 18 until January 3, 2025.
The event will showcase various decorations prepared for visitors across all age groups.
The Dorbar will also host a musical night on December 24, where the band “Magnificent Obsession” from Jowai will perform, and a Gospel concert on December 25, 2024, from 6 p.m. onwards, where DJ Wanshan and Eladmitre Dkhar will be the guest artists.
