Moot court competition held for law students
As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, India @75 and on the occasion of Pan India Awareness & Outreach Programme, the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Judicial Academy and District Legal Services Authority, Shillong today organised a Moot Court Competition at the Conference Hall, Law Department, NEHU, Shillong.
Justice W Diengdoh, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya attended the Inaugural Function as the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion Justice W Diengdoh stated that it is a privilege to be part of the various Awareness & Outreach programmes conducted by the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority.
Justice W Diengdoh stated that Moot Court competition is very important for law students as it enhances the ability, way of approach and thinking capabilities of the students as they prepare themselves to be part of the judicial system in the near future. Justice W. Diengdoh also added that Moot court competition enables students to have an inkling of the court proceedings once they pass out from their universities, it also enhances the overall development of an individual, to apply the knowledge one has acquired throughout their courses.
Justice Diengdoh urged the students to take this opportunity seriously and to make full use of their abilities which will be very beneficial for their future careers.
Others who were present include TTM Sangma, OSD, Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, KML Nongbri, Director, Meghalaya State Judicial Academy, D Sohtun, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority among others. (MIPR).
