9 more COVID-19 containment areas declared in Shillong | Here is the list

The District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills District has declared 9 more locations as containment areas in Shillong for detecting high risk contacts as to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The following is the list of active containment areas:

Laban: House of  Shri S. Roy (tenant) in the compound of Smti B. Nongkhlaw, Howell Road, Laban, house of Smti P. Lyngdoh (tenant) in the building of Smti S. Khongjee, Anand Bhavan, Howell Road, Laban, house of Shri S. Sharma (tenant) in the compound of Smti A. Lyngdoh ABP Road, Iewdak, Laban, house of Shri Dinesh Kumar Shah (tenant) in the building of Smti Lorina Rynjah, behind Zenith Jubelieth Club, St. John Area, Laban, the ground floor of the building of Smti G. Pyngrope, Amjad Ali Road, opposite City Guest House, Laban, house of (Late) Shri N. K. Das, behind Laban Police Station, Laban and building of Shri S. Das (1st floor), Opposite SBI ATM, Laban Last Stop.

Upper Lumparing: House of Shri P. Dey, Mynsain, Upper Lumparing and second floor of building of Smti T. Nongkhlaw, Lumdorbar, Upper Lumparing 

Lower Lumparing: House of  Smti Biola Mawthoh (tenant) in the compound of Smti Y. Mawniuh, Mynsain, Mawnei, Lower Lumparing

Lawsohtun: House of  Shri L. Lyngdoh Mawphlang (tenant) in the building of K. C. Bairo, Lawsohtun Block – 5 and building of Dr (Mrs) B. Kurbah (1st floor), Lawsohtun Block – 4, near CID Quarters 

Oakland: Compound of Haradhan Paul in Oakland.

Rilbong: House of Mrs. Sushila Gewali, Nepali Compound, Rilbong and the apartment of Mrs. Pronoti Choudhary, Chinmoy Paul Building, Rilbong (near Beat House).

M.G. Road, Shillong: House of Gulam Mustafa, (Behind Rock Wood Compound), M.G. Road, Shillong.

Riat Laban East, Madan Laban: Apartment of Smti R Dey in the building of Dr A Dey, Riat Laban East, Madan Laban.

New Kench’s Trace, Bishnupur: House of Dr S. S. Nongbri, New Kench’s Trace, Bishnupur.

The areas that have been unsealed are:
Based on the contact tracing status and testing report of the high risk contacts, the district magistrate has lifted the containment order from Naz Hotel and Grace Hotel Complex at Bimola Point, Sweeper Colony, Mawlonghat, house of Smti P D Lyngwa, Mynsain (Rum), Lower Lumparing, building of Smti S. Syiem at New Kench’s Trace, Bishnupur, Md. Salim Compound at Lower Mawprem and house of Mrs. Shipra Paul at Rilbong, Shillong.

Shops and business establishments closed

In another order, the District Administration has directed all shops and business establishments to remain closed in Jail Road, from Jail Road Filling Station up to Hotel Polo Towers from 5 AM of the 6th September 2020 to  5 AM of 9th September 2020.

The order was issued due to detection of many COVID-19 positive cases. “It is deemed necessary to control the spread of the pandemic especially in the identified commercial areas in the interest of health of general public against any further possible spread of COVID-19,” the order said.

The district administration has also allowed Unique, Near DCIC, Polo short round road, Lawmali, Shillong to resume operation following strict compliance of all the norms, SOPs and advisories of the Health and Family Welfare Department.
